Sophia High School organised a special awareness programme in collaboration
with the Karnataka State Police and the Bengaluru City Police, focusing on
Women’s Safety and Anti-Narcotic Awareness. The initiative was held for around
650 students from Classes 9 to 12, under the guidance and support of the
Principal, Sr. Mary Alpana SND and the Sisters of Notre Dame Bangalore.
The school was honoured to welcome Dr. Suman D. Pennekar, IPS, Deputy
Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru City, who led the session. Dr.
Suman introduced students to key safety initiatives such as Safe Connect, Safety
Islands, Neravu Mahila Kendras, Namma 112, and the KSP App, while also
highlighting important Anti-Narcotics measures. Her inspiring personal journey
and practical advice made the session highly engaging and meaningful.
The programme was further supported by the presence of ACP
Mr. Prakash, along with the Inspector and Sub-Inspector of the High Grounds
Police Station. Sophia High School extends its appreciation to Mr. Bharat Raj,
Inspector of the High Grounds Police Station for his continuous coordination and
support. The event encouraged students to stay aware, responsible, and
proactive in ensuring their own safety and contributing to a safer community.
