37 of 7C students with 2 teachers attended the outreach programme to Preeti Nivas Trust, Kothanur from 11:00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. where Fr.Kolandaiswamy of Guanella order, (apostle of Charity) looks after 62 male inmates (40-60 years old):- destitute and slightly of special needs too.Provisions and electric kitchen gadgets were donated by the school and students too. The students engaged happily with the men after greeting them. A few games for the inmates and a joyful dance by the students entertained everybody. The mood grew lighter as the inmates sang their favourite songs. A birthday girl felt more blessed as all joined together in prayer for her. The visit ended with a speech from either side thanking each other abundantly for this interaction. The students returned to school in the school bus richer in learning and understanding about old age and isolation.
