On 15/11/2025, a pleasant Saturday morning, the buses left the gates of Sophia
High School filled with the eager and enthusiastic students of class 6 A. we were
headed to Bosco Yuvakendra, a youth organization that has been a beacon of hope
and support for many children. Established in 1985 on Magadi Road, it is the first of
seven Bosco schools in Bangalore. It provides a safe home and all the necessities,
including education to build a better future for 27 children.
As we arrived, we were all warmly greeted by Father Joseph, the priest in charge of
the institution. Every boy present there was in their 8 th grade, 9 th grade, 10 th grade, or
PUC. Each one of them introduced themselves. They all had great ambitions and
were indeed extremely talented.
Father Joseph began to explain to us what this institution does. They care for all
children who are alone or run away from their homes. They give them a home and
great education. All of them are extremely grateful to be given a chance to study
and follow their passions. Father also explained the importance of never using our
phones for the wrong actions. Talking to strangers online and watching undesirable
content is not only a bad habit but extremely dangerous. Many incidents of how this
institution saved unfortunate children from these dangers were all narrated to us.
This visit left a lasting impression on all of us. We are deeply grateful to Sr. Alpana
who made this experience possible. Above all, we are thankful to the Almighty for
blessing this experience.
In conclusion, it is a reminder to all of us that every small act of kindness that we do
can have a big impact on someone’s life. It is a lesson we should carry forward in all
that we do.
Thank You.
