The Teacher’s Orientation Programme for the academic year 2025–26 was
held on the 2 nd and 3 rd of June at Sophia High School. This two-day event was
thoughtfully curated to inspire, equip, and align the teaching faculty for the
new academic session.
The first day began with an insightful session by LION Dr. S. Anthony
Joseph, who delivered a thought-provoking talk on “Fixed Mindset Vs
Growth Mindset: The Two Technologies.” Dr. Joseph emphasized the
importance of cultivating a growth mindset among educators to encourage
adaptability, resilience, and continuous learning in the classroom. His
engaging presentation set a reflective and motivational tone for the day.
Following the session, departmental meetings were held wherein teachers
collaborated within their subject groups to review past performance, strategize
lesson planning, and set academic goals for the upcoming year. These
meetings provided an opportunity for focused discussion, planning, and the
exchange of ideas.
The second day focused on practical training and spiritual preparation.
Teachers were introduced to a new software system in a session conducted
by VAPS, organized as per the school building divisions. The hands-on
training aimed to ensure smooth integration of the system into daily academic
and administrative operations.
This was followed by a serene and meaningful ceremony to bless the school
campus, conducted by the Fathers. The spiritual invocation sought divine
guidance and protection for the entire school community as it steps into a new
academic year.
The day concluded with a meeting with the Principal, Sr. Alpana SND, during
which she addressed the staff, sharing her vision and expectations for the
year. The meeting also served as a platform to discuss key plans, calendar
events, and collective responsibilities.
The orientation program successfully combined professional development,
collaborative planning, and spiritual grounding, preparing the faculty to embark
on the new academic year with renewed focus and enthusiasm.
