Parents’ Orientation (Std. VI & VII)

Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents- Bob Beauprez.

Parent orientation programme for class 6 and 7 was organised in the school auditorium on 10.6.2025. The event was held to address the parents on topics like substance abuse and improving communication with their children and also an overview of the holistic activities of Sophia High School.

The programme commenced at 8:45 a.m with a welcome address by Ms.Alphonsa the Master of ceremonies for the event. This followed with a prayer by Ms.Anita P and a soulful prayer song ‘I Speak Jesus’ by the music teachers Mrs.Annie and Mr.Elton.

The guest speaker, a renowned motivational speaker, Ms.Sangeetha Param was introduced by Ms.Annu P. and welcomed by our Principal Sr.Alpana with a bouquet of flowers. The speaker discussed the importance of good communication between parents and their children and emphasised the need to spend quality time with them for better relationship and advised parents about self-care. This was followed by the information regarding the online portal VAPS by Ms.Marina and the VAPS team.

Our middle school counsellor Ms.Arathi briefed the parents about the learning lab and counselling facilities that the students can avail at school. The student moderators Ms.Anita P. and Ms.Anjana spelt out the guidelines, rules and regulations for students. Information regarding the holistic developmental activities conducted during and after the school hours was given to the parents.

Our principal, Sr.Alpana addressed the parents and clarified all their concerns and queries. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms.Anita P. For the benefit of parents a helpdesk was organised at the sports pavilion for queries regarding VAPS and transport.
