On 12/6/25, we the NCC Council of Sophia High School were honored to visit The High Grounds Police Station where we had been invited for an awareness talk about the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) we were welcomed by the Inspector and Sub-Inspector who spoke us about the importance of the Act, how it helps protect children, and what steps are taken when a case is reported.
We were taught about the different sexual offences in our own community and how to report them. We were also told about the different helpline numbers and what each one handles like1098 is the Child Helpline number, which should be dialed in cases of child abuse or child safety emergencies. 112 general sevice line which will provide the service in 5 minutes.
We took a few group photos at the station to remember the visit and thanked the officers for their time before heading back to school.
In conclusion, the entire experience from receiving our badges to visiting the police station was very meaningful and inspiring. It reminded us of the responsibilities that we carry as NCC cadets and how it is important to stay informed, be aware, and take initiative when it comes to the safety and well-being of others.
