outreach trip to Grace home (day care for special children)

On Saturday, 28th January 2023, by 12 noon the students of Class 7C went in the school arranged BMTC bus on an outreach trip to Grace home (day care for special children) ,Kacharakkanahalli. Grace home is a day care centre for mentally challenged persons of age group 2yrs to 45yrs run by Ms. Lourdu Mary who has a mentally challenged daughter aged 24yrs since 10 yrs. Around 8 mothers of the mentally challenged persons too come to the centre and take care of them from morning 10 am to evening 5.30 pm. A brief introduction of each one was given by Ms. Deepa who has a special child. People here require full support to meet their daily chores. Our students performed for them and involved them in singing and dancing with them. Sharon, Lourdu Mary's daughter performed for us thanking God. The outreach was a very enriching experience for all of us. Donations of groceries sponsored by the management included 55 kgs of rice, lentils, oil, cooking powders, napkins. Diapers, rubber sheets, snacks, Bournivita, bedsheets and toiletries.
